Work of God or Men?

He cites two examples which ended in futility because the work of God was absent from among them.

First he says: “For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought” (Acts 5:36).

To obey God is different from complying with anyone else. The Lord God is not a man. And obeying Him is not mechanical. We can’t execute His desires half-heartedly or how we desire. We could only carry out His wishes on His terms or not at all.
