The resurrection from the dead is a foundational doctrine of Jesus Christ and Christianity. What did these apostles preach about the resurrection from the dead that irate these people?
Today, we continue our Book of Acts Bible Study. Our reference is Acts 4:1-4.
“And as [Peter and John] spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them (Acts 4:1).
In the verse of scripture immediately above, we observe three groups of people. However, the last group, the Sadducees is most relevant to this discussion.
They neither believe in angels nor in the resurrection from the dead (Matthew 22:23; Luke 20:27).
Therefore, when the apostles preached that God “raised up” Jesus Christ from the dead, they were furious (Acts 3:26).
They Preached Through Jesus the Resurrection From the Dead and this Happened
Despite their arrest, it was worth the inconvenience. Because five thousand people believed in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
We know this for Luke tells us.
“Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand” (Acts 4:4).
Conclusion
Today, there are people who, just as the Sadducees, do not believe in the resurrection from the dead. They openly reject the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Nevertheless, they embrace vampires and the “undead”. These skeptics read this literature and watch these movies. They never miss watching an episode of “The Walking Dead” and others of a similar nature.
But they refuse to believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He is alive. After his resurrection from the dead he was with his apostles for forty days. He ate with them. They touched him and asked him questions. And still they fail to believe it, but embrace a figment of someone’s imagination!

You will not find the phrase, a prayer of supplication in the Holy Bible.
However, before we dive right into this let’s examine the definition for a prayer of supplication.
Then, today, let’s examine the differences between a prayer of supplication and just making a petition to the Lord God Almighty.
We often read of Apostle Paul’s First Missionary Journey, but this description is incomplete.
It fails to mention that his first missionary trip consisted of at least two other disciples of Jesus Christ.
Similarly, many Christians often overlook the importance of Paul’s first missionary excursion.
But under close examination, it shows that God is just and that He’s a God of the Gentiles too. It also marks the change in name of Saul, his promotion, his call to ministry, and his answer and obedience to the Holy Ghost.
Finally, it indicates the introduction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles.
