The Church had recently chosen seven deacons and one of them was Stephen.

He was of honest report, full of faith, the Holy Ghost, power, and wisdom.

Could someone please explain what the Bible means by “the Word of God increased?”

I know literally, this is impossible because “the word” cannot grow!

“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith” (Acts 6:7)

However, naturally, “the word” cannot replicate itself. But spiritually, because the word is a seed, when more people received and believed the Word of God this means that it has increased.

This was the case with the church above. When “the number of disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly” and when many of the “priests were obedient to the faith” this describes how the Word of God increased!

This means that many, many more people believed the Gospel, and the Church grew!!

“And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people” (Acts 6:8).

I teach Christians how to better understand the Bible using Bible Studies.

I utilize the Holy Bible as my sole authority for all my Bible studies.

“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little” (Isaiah 28:10).
