Teach no Other Doctrine Timothy.Apostle Paul’s charge to young Pastor Timothy to teach no other doctrine but the Doctrine of Jesus Christ is a charge to Christendom today. This charge is imperative because “grievous wolves” have entered among us and are ravenously devouring the flock of Christ. They have distorted Christ and the Apostles’ Doctrine concerning born again, salvation, water baptism, Spirit baptism, repentance, death and hell. The list of deceptions and distortions and doctrines is almost endless. Many have drifted from the fundamental doctrine of Christ. Many “concerning faith have made shipwreck”; they have become reprobates to the truth in Christ Jesus. The follow doctrine of men and ignore the Word of God.

Do Good to All

Apostle Paul provides three good reasons why each Believer should carry another’s burdens. First, he tells us that it avoids self-deception. In his words, “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he” deceives “himself,” Galatians 6:3. Therefore, we can deceive our self and be ignorant of that fact.

When a Believer bears another person’s burdens it promotes his or her happiness. Next time you assist someone in need, mark how it makes you feel good and happy. You are happy because you did something wonderful for someone else. Therefore, help others more and be happy more frequently.

by Leroy Daley October 19, 2012

Please don’t confuse meekness with gentleness. However, keep in mind that a gentle person is not necessarily a meek person, but a meek Believer is always gentle. Moses was the meekest person the earth had seen until Christ came. I have written about meekness, please read more via the link above. I also want to bring to your attention the fact that meekness is one of the resulting behaviors of the Fruit of the Spirit. Believers who possess the Fruit of the Spirit demonstrate and display meekness in their everyday life.

by Leroy Daley October 16, 2012

Brothers and Sisters, realize that the “fruit of the Spirit” cannot be a “fruit” if it is each of those nine behaviors listed above. If we say, the fruit of the Spirit is love; the fruit of the Spirit is peace; the fruit of the Spirit is long-suffering; the fruit of the Spirit is gentleness; the fruit of the Spirit is goodness; the fruit of the Spirit is faith; the fruit of the Spirit is meekness and the fruit of the Spirit is temperance; then, we have nine fruits. But, the Scripture says “the fruit of the Spirit”, that is one fruit.

Pastor Paul recently explained to the congregations in Galatia, that love fulfils all the law and prophets; nevertheless, now he encourages them to walk in the Spirit. Our main Scriptures are from Galatians 5:16-26. Pastor Paul’s advice is simple, yet it could cause problems for many Believers. He tells them, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh,” Galatians 5:16.

One Word Says it Best – Love

by Leroy Daley October 11, 2012

The love of God, Jesus Christ, fulfils all the law because he paid the price the Law demanded, death. Jesus died once for our sins because the wages of sin is death that we might live to God. Apostle Paul summarizes this in two verses of Scripture:“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another,” Galatians 5:14-15.

This Persuasion Comes not From Christ

by Leroy Daley October 8, 2012

When you understand the superiority of the liberty that we have in Christ by faith, you will acknowledge that ceremonies and rituals like circumcision are vain and mean little in the Kingdom of Heaven. Paul understood that.
Finally, Pastor Paul reveals that “this persuasion” that you are not liberated by Christ from the bondage of the law; that religious rituals such as circumcision mean much in Christ, and the fact that you have “not” obeyed “the truth” did not come from “him that called you” that is Jesus Christ.

Having recently queried the churches of Galatia whether he has become their enemy for telling them the truth. He asks the Galatians churches why they desire to be under the law. Then, he tells them that the law and the promise are mutually exclusive; thus, they have to choose one. He further invited them to listen to the law for it speaks to them. The main reference for this Bible Study comes from Galatians 4:21-31.
