Like Our Father

I feel the need to explain further the rationale behind Believers becoming Fathers like our Father. Becoming Fathers starts with the Lord God. The Lord showed us how to be Fathers. He set the stage for Believers to become Fathers. He created the universe and all that are in it by speaking. The Lord God does everything by speaking.

Since we are made in our Father’s image He has endowed us with capabilities to be a father like Him. However, the first man Adam lost the image of his father. Consequently, all men inherited a fatherless image because of sin. But since the last Adam came and changed our status we can revert to our previous status like our Father by obedience to and faith in Jesus Christ.

The image of our Father is not physical because He is a Spirit. As Believers we receive the image of our Father when we receive His Spirit. At this point in our Christian life we are like our Father and exactly as Adam was before he sinned. We have been redeemed and restored. What was dead is now alive and what could not speak, now speaks like our Father.

Being Born Again Reinstate the Image of our Father in us

Believers are like our Father only through the New Birth experience. The Born Again experience reinstate the image of our Father in us. Subsequently, therefore, we can function like Adam before he sinned. Observe how Adam achieved everything by speaking just like his Father. He named all the animals, his wife and declared how the marriage institution should function.

Observe, how Moses achieved his purpose first by speaking. Then, based on how the hearers of his words reacted he responded with appropriate actions. Sometimes, that reaction is to speak like our Father again. This was how Moses operated with Pharaoh. Our Father send Moses ‘to speak” to Pharaoh. He send us to speak to the world of Jesus Christ. Our Father achieve all His purpose by speaking through available people because He is a Spirit.

Speak like our Father

Only when Believers get to the Fathers stage we realize, to be like our Father, we operate as channels for God’s work. Our Father is a Spirit. He has no anatomy but ours; He has no hands, no feet or mouth to speak but ours. This realization makes us more aware of our roles at each stage of our spiritual development process. Believers should not expect to operate like our Father before spiritual maturity.

As new born spiritual babes we cannot speak, naturally and spiritually. As a spiritual babe Moses could not speak to Pharaoh or Israel.
As Little Children we are just learning to speak. As a child Moses could only speak to Pharaoh and Israel what the Lord told him.
As Young Men we can speak but we don’t know what to say at the appropriate time.
Only as Fathers we know the real basis of speaking like our Father. We utilize every opportunity to step into our purpose and give hope and life to all persons we encounter by speaking Christ to them.

Being Fathers ends with the Lord. Being Fathers, like our Father, starts and ends with speaking. However, between the start and the finish is a whole spectrum of actions necessary to accomplish the expected end.

Therefore, Fathers to become like our Father let us speak life to others but act on our words to obtain our diverse expected end.

In closing, speak to everything in your life and the lives of others for all or God’s creation have ears. Speak solutions to all your problems; speak health to all the sick; speak life to everything dead; your dead relationship, dead or dying passion or body. Speak to everything animate and inanimate and they will hear and obey because you speak as your Father commands you. Speak like our Father!
