The Great Whore Rides!
Yesterday, I explored the significance of “the wilderness” to the overall meaning of the allegory of the great whore sitting on the beast. Today, let’s explore why the Great Whore sits on the beast with the seven heads and ten horns.
“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns,” Revelation 17:3.
Since the introduction of the “great red dragon” with “seven heads and ten horns” I have explained that this dragon and all the other similar beasts represent Satan or his representative. A few details have changed since, instead of “red” the color is “scarlet” a synonym for red.
Additionally, the word “beast” replaced “dragon”. The substance of the Dragon has not changed he is still evil. Why is the great whore sitting on the beast? Why couldn’t she be standing beside the beast? I have studied and explained much concerning Satan’s Seat in general terms. Today, I shall be more specific in explaining details and how it’s executed.
The Great Whore Occupies Satan’s Seat
The Great Whore, Babylon, the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) and The Vatican, is sitting in Satan’s Chair, the Seat of Satan. That seat, symbolically, is what the great whore is sitting on, the beast. Therefore, sitting on the beast depicts dominance for the rider and submission for the beast. The great whore sits on the beast because she controls him. Recall the beast really represents seven kings. These seven kings are agents of Satan because he gave them his power. The Great Whore is sitting on the scarlet beast because she occupies Satan’s Seat.
Similarly, Satan shall give the “ten horns” which are ten additional kings without kingdoms, power with him for a short time, Revelation 17:12.

The great whore sits on the beast because her seat expresses her role and relationship between the kings and Satan. The kings despise her but cannot do anything to her because of her powerful alliance. However, when the master of the Great Whore goes “in perdition” they shall turn on her and shall eliminate her according to God’s purpose, Revelation 17:16.
This could very well describe how many countries like China feel about the Pope’s global political influence and power. However, because of his power they are helpless, unable to do anything about him, the Great Whore.
What Does the Great Whore Communicate Sitting on the Scarlet Coloured Beast?
Additionally, what does this allegory of the great whore sitting on a scarlet coloured beast communicate about the kingdom of The Beast? Certainly, he is making a statement. Nothing in this symbolism is insignificant or by chance. The message the Dragon is making takes form when the angel carried John in the Spirit into the wilderness. This too is important because the Tabernacle was conceived, received, built, erected and transported in the wilderness. What does the Tabernacle has to do with all of this? Much!

The Dragon gave his power to the Beast and the first thing the latter did was to, “opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven,” Revelation 13:6. Observed, that one of the ways the Beast blasphemed God was to blaspheme “his tabernacle.” The Beast blasphemed the same Tabernacle, which was in the wilderness.
In closing, the great whore is sitting on the scarlet coloured beast because she is making a statement about the Tabernacle of God. Join me tomorrow as I explain the statement she makes and why she is doing it.

I believe the Great Whore is SIN. The devil is the carrier of sin, he brings it before all nations. 7 heads is all nations, and there are seven spirits of God, the devil is trying to go head to head with God in the battle. The ten horns are the law, the strength of the law is sin the bible says. ( Hence 10 commandments)
In Proverbs it says: A whore is a deep ditch, and a strange woman a narrow pit.
It’s easy to fall into sin and be persuaded and decieved, but you will not get out on your own unless you reach for God’s hand to pull you out. The whore is SIN, and that is what Jesus died on the cross for, to save us from the penalty of dieing in our sins. The penalty is hell, eternal seperation from God.
But thanks be to God, he gave us the victory over sin through his Son Jesus.
To continue on my last comments: The only way out of the pit of sin is through the blood. When they read the law in the old testament they sprinkled the blood all over the books and their garments etc. This represents : Without the shedding of blood there is no remissions from sin.
Alot of times to help understand and meditate on a scripture, go back to the cross and look at what Jesus died for. If the teaching does point to the cross it’s going to miss everytime. Jesus died for the sin of the world, that’s a great whore, not just a whore but a great whore. But guess what, he doesn’t just have a sword, he has a GREAT SWORD to take care of a GREAT Whore.
Sorry I made a typing mistake:
If the teaching does not point to the cross it’s going to miss everytime.
Don, thanks for visiting BATW and commenting. It’s important for us to have our opinions for they differentiate us, reflect our emotions and inform others of us. However, opinions without Scriptural support when interpreting Scriptures are doctrines of men. You “BELIEVE the Great Whore is SIN” point taken; now, support that claim with Scriptures then we shall have the start of a wonderful discussion.
DITTO! Don, thanks for visiting BATW and commenting. …support those claims with Scriptures then we shall have the start of a wonderful discussion.
Don are you saying, the spiritual needs of all Believers or all peoples are the same simultaneously? While some people need to accept Jesus Christ and the work of the cross, others have different needs. Others may need to study the WORD to explain the cross; while, others may need to seek out people who are ignorant of the Gospel of Grace to inform them of Jesus Christ.
