Two Witnesses Corroborate the Spirit

Two Witnesses of Jesus Corroborate on the Spirit

The Two Witnesses corroborate the testimony of Jesus Christ concerning the initial three witnesses in the earth, the Spirit, the water and the blood. I have written on the last two; now let’s examine the first one, the Spirit.

What must the two Witnesses say concerning the Spirit? All the books that could be written could not hold what they could say about the Spirit of God. However, they must confirm, to ensure the Scripture be not broken, that Jesus Christ carried out his mandate of the Spirit in the earth according to the Scriptures, Isaiah 61:1-3.

The preceding Scripture summarizes Jesus’ mandate on earth according to the Spirit of God. Therefore, to ensure the Scripture is consistent the Two Witnesses must have declared, at least the following:

Two Witnesses Corroborate Jesus Fulfilled the Mandate of the Spirit

  • The Spirit of the Lord GOD was on Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus preached the gospel (‘good tidings’) to the poor in spirit (the meek).
  • Jesus healed the ‘brokenhearted’.
  • Jesus preached and ‘proclaimed’ liberty (freedom) to “the captives”.
  • Jesus preached freedom to the prisoners.
  • Jesus preached the acceptable year of the LORD.
  • Jesus preached the day of vengeance of God.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified,” Isaiah 61:3.

Additionally, the Two Witnesses spoke of the diverse operations of the Spirit of God through Jesus Christ to do miracles, signs and wonders. Moreover, of necessity they must have mentioned that Jesus promised his Spirit to his disciples and to all who believed on him.

These are the main components of the power of the Spirit including the power of the Spirit in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Jesus fulfilled. Therefore, these two witnesses will confirm them to be so.

“And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them,” Revelation 11:7.

This is a quintessential demonstration of the power of the Spirit, concerning the two witnesses. First, they testified of Jesus’ victory over death and hell. Death and hell were the last enemies Jesus defeated. Therefore, it’s expedient that the two witnesses should die after their last testimony because by their death they provide another witness to their testimony.

Jesus allowed the Beast to kill the two witnesses to demonstrate the power of the Spirit

Here is my explanation of the above: Observe a parallel between the death of Jesus Christ and the death of his two witnesses:

  1. Jesus Christ was killed in Jerusalem.
  2. The Two Witnesses were killed in Jerusalem, Revelation 11:8.
  3. Jesus was dead for three days.
  4. The Two Witnesses were dead for three-and-a-half days, Revelation 11:9.
  5. After three days the Spirit of Life entered into Jesus and he rose from the dead .
  6. After three-and-a-half-days the same Spirit of Life entered into the Two Witnesses and resurrected them, Revelation 11:11.

Earlier, I said the death of the Two Witnesses is one of the supreme demonstrations of power of the Spirit. The Two Witnesses testified of the awesome power of the Spirit of Life in Jesus’ resurrection. Then to corroborate their testimony Christ Jesus allowed the Beast to kill them to demonstrate the power of the Spirit. Their death provides the consummate opportunity to demonstrate the veracity of their testimony of Jesus’ resurrection by resurrecting them in a similar manner Jesus was resurrected.

Finally, the Two Witnesses ascended into heaven with a cloud. Jesus ascended into heaven with a cloud with his eleven Apostles gazing at him disappearing into heaven.

The testimony of the Two Anointed Witnesses, the Two Olive Trees or the Two Candlesticks is accepted by heaven. They attested to the testimony of the Spirit, the water and the blood, which testified of the activities of Jesus Christ in the earth. Therefore , they corroborated the testimony of Jesus Christ, which God gave to John and sent His angel to confirm with John that this testimony is true, Revelation 1:1.

In closing, the Two Witnesses are not lying spirits but prophets of God, Revelation 11:10, therefore, their testimony concerning the power of the Spirit of Life is true and reliable.
