13 Additional Reasons to Baptize in Jesus Name
Yesterday, I cited a few reasons to baptize in Jesus name. Today, I shall list thirteen additional reasons to baptize in Jesus name.
Thirteen More Reasons to Baptize in Jesus Name
- Baptize in Jesus name because it’s the only name that shall save the world from our sins, Matthew 1:21.
- Baptize in Jesus name for it’s the only name you can securely put your trust, Matthew 12:21.
- The Lord Jesus commands us to baptize in Jesus name, His name, Matthew 28:19.
- Baptism in Jesus name shows worship for “the name which is above every name” “in heaven,” “in earth” and “under the earth,” Philippians 2:9-10. Worship the greatest name, Lord Jesus Christ with baptism in his name.
- Baptize in Jesus name for “Jesus Christ is LORD,” there is no other LORD besides Jesus, Philippians 2:11.
- Baptize in Jesus name because “repentance and remission of sins” are preached in his name among all nations, it started at Jerusalem. The name of Jesus is universal for all peoples, Luke 24:47.
- Baptize in Jesus name because whatever you ask in his name he promised, “To do”, John 14:13.
- Baptize in Jesus name because baptism in his name shows that you believe in him. By believing in Jesus name you shall “have life through his name,” John 20:31.
- The Scripture instructs Believers to “Do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,” Col., 3:17. Therefore, baptize in Jesus name is obedience to God’s Words.
- Baptize in Jesus name for he has “a more excellent name” than all the angels, Hebrews 1:4.
- Baptize in Jesus name because the Apostles baptized EVERYONE from the First Century Church in Jesus name.
- Baptize in Jesus name for the Apostles preached and baptized in Jesus name also, Acts 2:38.
- Baptize in Jesus name for, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved,” Acts 4:12.
There is no other way to take the name of Jesus except to baptize in Jesus name.
My prayer for you is that you comprehend the profound significance of the name of Jesus. Without the name of Jesus, we are not his. By taking the name of Jesus (which is not automatic) by water baptism by immersion you take on Christ Himself.
There is no other way to take the name of Jesus except to baptize in Jesus name. Those persons who do everything in the name of Jesus EXCEPT to baptize in his name he will condemn them in last day, Matthew 7:22 -23. These are the unbelieving Believers who refuse to baptize in the name of Jesus for they don’t realize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: is one name, Jesus.
Baptism in the name of Jesus identifies you with your Father, and His kingdom. I’m a child of God and I need to have my Father’s name, the name is Jesus.
In closing, the same Lord of the Old Testament is the same Lord (Jesus) in the New Testament. The name of the Lord was so important for Moses to understand it, the Lord “descended” from heaven and “proclaimed” it to him, Exodus 34:5. Jesus came in his Father’s name, John 5:43;12:13. Since we know Jesus’ name we deduce the Father’s name is also “Jesus”. Jesus said, “I have declared unto them (his disciples) thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them,” John 17:26. If you understood the significance of the Lord’s proclamation and declaration of his name to his servants, you would hasten to baptize in the name of Jesus, Psalm 22:22 and Hebrews 2:12.
