Messianic Prophecy Concerning the Birth Place of Christ

The Messianic Prophecies that Jesus would be the Seed of a Woman and Born of a Virgin were fulfilled. Today, let’s examine another Messianic Prophecy concerning the place of birth of Jesus Christ.

Messianic Prophecy – Birth Place of Christ – Bethlehem of Judah

“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting,” Micah 5:2.

The Lord through His Scriptures foretells the exact city and region where Jesus Christ would born. There’s not another book on earth, which can make as accurate predictions as the Bible, the Book of God. It foretells Jesus would be born in Bethlehem of Judah. This is one Scripture Messianic Scholars need to be familiar with.

Every decision and therefore action that Joseph made on his return journey from his flight into Egypt resulted in a fulfillment of God’s purpose.

Fulfillment of Messianic Prophecy Concerning the Birth Place of Christ

Both Matthew and Luke recorded the fulfillment of the birth of Jesus Christ. Matthew’s account is more of a summary of Christ birth, Matthew 2:1.  I, however, love Luke’s account because it provides more details for a more defined mental picture, Luke 2:4 – 7.

Joseph left Nazareth of Galilee to the City of David (Bethlehem) in Judaea to be taxed with his expectant wife. While they were there, her time came for delivery and she gave birth to baby Jesus.

Finally, the Lord is God all by Himself. He used the king’s “decree” to fulfill His Words, the Messianic Prophecy of Christ’s place of birth. Caesar Augustus, the king, made a law “that all the world should be taxed,” Luke 2:1. It was this decision that the Lord used to demonstrate who is king of kings.

By this law, Joseph returned to the city of his birth and Christ was born in the City of David according to Word of the Lord by His prophet Micah. I wonder how will the Lord use my decisions to fulfill his Words for my life and or the lives of others?
