Introduce Jesus Christ Into Your Presentations
Welcome to you to our Book of Acts Bible Study, “Apostle Paul Preached Jesus Christ and Taught Difference Between Physical and Spiritual Resurrection of Seed of David.” Today, we shall continue to examine Acts Chapter Thirteen, Acts 13:38 – 52, part three of four.
Having left Perga, Paul and Barnabas came to Antioch in Pisidia. However, when it was the Sabbath they went into the synagogue and sat down, Acts 13:14.
In the previous Book of Acts Bible Study, I remarked that Jesus Christ had promoted Paul, Acts 14:12. Barnabas means son of consolation, he’s an encourager an exhorter, Acts 4:36. Nevertheless, note when the “leaders of the synagogue” invited them to speak Paul, not Barnabas, stood up and preached Christ to the congregation, Acts 13:16.
Paul laid the foundation in his sermon to introduce Jesus Christ to them. Therefore, he summarized the Jewish history from Egypt to David, Acts 13:17 – 22.
This approach of Paul should be the strategy of every Believer, find an angle, a perspective, a viewpoint from which you introduce Jesus Christ into your presentations. Find some way to inform and present to your audience Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, preach Jesus Christ. Tell your audience they have forgiveness of sins, by believing in the name of Jesus Christ.
Paul explained in the synagogue in Antioch in Pisidia, Jesus the Savior is of the linage of David, “according to the promise” of God, Acts 13:24.
He reminded them how John the Baptist, before he died, declared he was not the Christ, but that Christ would come after his death, Acts 13:25.
Paul further, points out that by ignorance the Jews condemned Christ to death, Acts 13:27. He points out Jesus Christ was innocent but was nevertheless condemned by ignorant Jews to death, Acts 13:28.
Paul preached to the congregation – Jews and Gentiles – of the Gospel of Christ; his death, his burial and resurrection, Acts 13:29 – 30.
Paul continues his preaching explaining that after Jesus resurrection he was “seen many days” by people who are his witnesses, Acts 13:31.
Difference - Physical & Spiritual Resurrection Jesus Christ
Paul explained the difference between the physical and spiritual “raising up” of the “Seed of David”, Jesus Christ, Acts 13:33.
Paul preached the physical raising of Jesus Christ from the dead at length. He explains Jesus Christ died and they buried him but he did not decompose because he rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus rose from the dead before decay could start, according to all the Scriptures, Acts 13:34 – 37.
However, Paul explains the spiritual raising of Jesus Christ in fewer words. He “declares” good news to the congregation. He enlightens them; the promise, which God made to their ancestors, is fulfilled, in “us their children,” Acts 13:33. How is this achieved?
Jesus Christ Returned to Earth - Holy Spirit to Rise Again
At the commencement of this Book of Acts Bible Studies, I made an important declaration about the Holy Ghost. I told you Jesus Christ returned to earth as the Holy Ghost to indwell, to command and to continue His work through His disciples. This is what Paul is referring to as, the promise fulfilled in their children.
In closing, when Paul said, “God that fulfilled the same (promise) unto us their children, (how) in that he hath raised up Jesus Christ again,” Acts 13:33. This is not speaking about the physical resurrection of Jesus; Paul dealt with that part already. The word “again” is used to emphasize the rising of Jesus Christ, once physically, and now spiritually in his disciples. This is a spiritual raising of Christ “again” in the disciples to do great works of Jesus Christ. “Again”is used because Jesus Christ rose from the grave and is in heaven.
However, “again” is also used because the Spirit of Christ is “raised” in His disciples to work mightly among them. In other words, the works of the disciples (the miracles etc) are not their works but are the workings of the Spirit of Jesus Christ raising in them. This is one way, in which David shall fulfill all the will of God, by Jesus Christ, through the Holy Ghost. Apostle Paul preached Jesus Christ; you should preach Jesus Christ too. The preaching of Jesus Christ is mandatory, he who preaches Christ is obedient to Jesus’ commandment!
