Apostle Philip Preached Jesus Christ to Samaritans
Christian Pastors why is Jesus Christ not mentioned in your preachings, teachings or singing?
Today we continue the Acts of the Apostles Bible Study. Our reference for today’s Bible Study is Acts 8:5 – 13. The Lord Jesus Christ continues to fulfill the disciples’ prayer for boldness and display of signs and wonders through his name.
The Apostle Philip goes to the city of Samaria and preached Jesus Christ.
As the persecution against the Church in Jerusalem continues and intensifies all the disciples of Jesus Christ are scattered in all Samaria and Judea. However, the Apostles were still in Jerusalem, and utilizing the Jerusalem location as their headquarters.
Apostle Philip left Jerusalem and went down to the “city of Samaria”. Evidently, there were no other disciples in this city for the power of darkness; “sorcery” was rife in that city.
Living in the city of Samaria was a sorcerer by the name of Simon who held the residents of the city captives to the powers of Satan. He has used sorcery to control, amaze and gain the respect or fear of the Samaritans. How easily people are deceived for they though Simon “is the great power of God,” Acts 8:10. He reinforced their belief by further declaring to the Samaritans that he “was some great” man, Acts 8:9.
The Apostle Philip arrives in the city of Samaria and preached Jesus Christ to its residents, Acts 8:5. The citizens of this city were ecstatic; there was great joy in the city. “With one accord” they listened to Philip, Acts 8:6. They listened to the Apostle Philip preached about Christ and they say the miracles he did in the name of Jesus, Acts 8: 6 – 7.
Samaritans Received Jesus Christ With Joy
Wherever there is “one accord” , in accordance with the Word of God, there is no restrains to what the power of God can accomplish. Don’t be deceived the powers of darkness use the same principle for evil too, Acts 7:57. It’s a principle use it for life and accomplish your heavenly desires!
Apostle Philip preached Christ to the Samaritans and they received and believed his word with joy, Acts 8: 3 – 8.
However, when true power and authority is present no boasting is necessary. Whose report will you believe? Whom you believe will determine your destiny. Will you continue to believe Simon’s report about himself or will you believe the report of Jesus Christ?
The powers of darkness have held the people of Samaria captives for too long. Too long has Simon held you in bondage to sin, to sorcery. Everyone believed Simon, “from the least to the greatest,” Acts 8:10. Everyone listened and obeyed Simon, “they all gave heed,” to the things he said, Acts 8:10. Well Simon, Satan, your reign of darkness ends today for Jesus Christ is come to the people of the city of Samaria.
Do all in the Name of Jesus Christ
Many preachers of today preach about everyone except Jesus Christ. They preach about the President of the United States. They preach about Holly Hood stars; they preach about the great men of the Bible but not about Jesus Christ. The main focus of the Church is Jesus Christ. The Body of Christ should teach about Jesus Christ; we should sing about Jesus Christ and converse about Jesus Christ. Tell others about Jesus Christ. Do all in the name of Jesus Christ.
Be alert, Believers, this is a subtle spirit of anti-Christ. How can a Minister of Jesus Christ takes the podium for a hour and not mention Jesus Christ? How can a Man of God preach for an hour and not say “Jesus” or Christ” or “Jesus Christ”? Smoke was coming from my ears when I saw that on TV, I just could not believe it. To make matters worst this preacher has one of the Mega Churches in USA. He’s not alone he is one among many. Next time you are watching TV pay attention to this, Christian preacher preaches and does not mention Jesus Christ in his entire sermon.
In closing, this Bible Study continues tomorrow if the Lord tarries.
Apostle Philip went to the city of Samaria and preached Jesus Christ. He demonstrated the resurrection power in signs and wonders and miracles. This is one of the reasons these Mega Churches or more appropriately, these Mega Social clubs are so powerless, they have excluded Jesus Christ from their worship.
