Christian Soldier

Christian Soldiers Sleep Fully Armoured

Christian Soldiers are the only “men of war” that are always “armoured in their battle fatigue!” Where-ever and when ever you see Christian Soldiers they are fully clothed in the armour of God. If they are sleeping, Christian Soldiers  sleep fully armoured from head to toes.

The fact that Christian Soldiers are “armoured” from head to toes is good, but sometimes they forget about it because they are all invisible. Every piece of God’s protective and defensive armoury for the church is invisible. And rightly so because the enemies of Christian Soldiers are not human beings. Our enemies are invisible too. If we fight against other human beings we would not be representing Christ. Jesus Christ taught, and he died for humanity. Jesus taught, “follow peace with all men”, Hebrews 12:14.

Jesus left his peace with his Church:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid,” John 14:27.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak,” Ephesians 6:10-20.

Armoury of The Christian Soldiers

The above Scriptures advised us to “take the helmet of salvation.” This piece of the armoury is not just for the heads of Christian Soldiers but salvation (protection) for the whole body. When Christian Soldiers protect their heads from injury they are also preserving their entire bodies. Then, Christian Soldiers, we have the “sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.”  “The breastplate  of righteousness” protects the chests of  Christian Soldiers. As Christian Soldiers we are different from all other “people of war” because our weaponry is different. For instance, our swords are not in our hands but in our mouths.

Ordinary soldiers, in earlier times, utilized theirs swords using their hands. Christians soldiers, then and now, make maximum use of their sword by speaking the Word of God in faith. Note also, this sword is not even ours. The Word of God is the “sword of the Spirit”, it belongs to the Spirit of God. This is one of the reasons Christian Soldiers need the guidance of  the Spirit in speaking the right words to the right person at the most opportune time. Christian Soldiers, allow  the Holy Spirit to lead you to speak the right word to the right person. If every Christian soldier follow this simple rule he would have chosen the right words, the right person at the right time every time.

As Christian Soldiers, when we speak the Word of God we set in motion many, many things. By speaking God’s Word the Spirit  stabs a death stroke into the kingdom of darkness. When Christian Soldiers speak the Word of God they are attacking the kingdom of darkness, the systems of this world and simultaneously building the Kingdom of God. By speaking the Word of God Christian Soldiers release their creative powers. Christian Soldiers give life to the dying when they speak faith to them by telling them, they can live through Jesus Christ.

Our entire armour is not ours but God’s, it is “the armour of God.” God does not need  an armour, He is the all powerful God. But He owns it and gave it to us as his protection for us.

Christian Soldiers We Already Have God’s Protection

Many times Christian Soldiers pray that God will protect us from this or that. Honestly, we already have God’s protection with us and don’t even know it. Recall, “the Lord’s Prayer”, there is no request or petition for protection in it because God gave us his “armour” for our full protection.  “Deliver us from evil”  is not talking about regular protection. This “armour of God” is the Holy Ghost.  If you have that protection put it to work, use it by speaking the Word of God. Speak the Words of God to your situations and circumstances. Speak them also into the spirit of others. This may sound simple and easy enough but it can be one of the hardest things to do for many of us. This, I think, is one of the reasons the Apostle Paul request prayer for it, Ephesians 6:18-20.

Sometimes Christian Soldiers can be over zealous  but ignorant of what it means to be a Christian Soldier. Soldiers of Christ, let us fight with the understanding for, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier,” 2 Timothy 2:4.

By speaking the Word of God to someone who is depressed and sad Christian Soldiers, you have actually just engaged the adversary, the Devil. The word of light that you speak to a person builds hope, strength and lighten his path for him to pull himself out from darkness.

Satan’s plan for all man kind is that we be in hell with him and his angels. Therefore, he lays traps to kill us spiritually,  if we are  disobedient and unbelieving to God’s Word, then we shall not get into heaven.  Heaven was Satan former home, the place God banished him and the other angels from forever. But Jesus the Messiah, took care of him when he died on the cross because Jesus died if you only believe in Jesus Christ you are victorious over Satan.  If you believe Jesus you will obey him too.

Christian Soldiers Fight With the Understanding

Christian Soldiers, the instant you tell someone, you are not alone for Jesus is always with you; you are not going to fail for Jesus will help you; stop blaming yourself tell your problems to Jesus and ask him to forgive you and he will; you are marked by the Devil for destruction because you are doing God’s work. Christian Soldiers don’t be afraid, operate in the full knowledge and power of Jesus Christ.  You already have victory thought the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the Devil knows this. Therefore,  all he his doing is pretend to cause you to lose faith and quit. But Christian Soldiers, do not give up for Jesus never intended for you to quit that is why he went all the way to Calvary for our sins so that you can have victory over Satan and over sin.

Therefore, Christian Soldiers, fight with the understanding and speak with the understanding.  You will be attacked by the kingdom of darkness for speaking God’s Word but know you are fully protected by the “whole armour of God”, the Holy Ghost. Pressure will be brought to bear on you for being God’s mouth. Like Paul encouraged Timothy I’m encouraging you: “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ,” 2 Timothy 2:3.

You may bend or bow under the pressures that Satan will bring against you for speaking on God’s behalf but do not break, endure like  a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, fight (speak) with the understanding knowing that you will be attacked by the adversary for speaking God’s Word. Fight (speak) with the understanding knowing that you are protected by the “whole  armour of God” but you have to “take” the amour. Accept God’s Words by faith and apply it to your lives.

Christian Soldiers’ Nutrition

In all your doing refuse to be bogged down by the affairs of this life. Never  forget to nourish yourself spiritually. Anything that is not fed will starve to death, spiritually or naturally. Feed yourselves, spiritually, with prayer, fasting, Bible reading, Bible studies, memorization and meditation of the Word, spiritual songs, psalms, and fellowship with other Believers. If you fail to do this you would have “entangled” yourself  in the “affairs” of this life. Since all our armoury are spiritual if we are not, we cannot ”take” them and effectively apply them to our lives for our protection in Christ Jesus.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s,” 2 Corinthians 10:3-7.

We should never be too busy to nourish ourselves  with kingdom food.  Observe the people who are most stressed and very depressed they are the ones who do not have a regular and consistent prayer life. Manage your time well. There are twenty four hours in a day. Everyone, alive, has equal access to the same twenty four hours yet some use it well and others don’t. Schedule time, each day, for doing heavenly central things, similar to how we schedule, without even realising that what we are doing, time for other things. We sometimes, unconscious to us, schedule things like work, movies, reading and relaxation. We are tourists on earth,  our residence is in heaven, and because of that we cannot be earthly focus and never get to see our Father face to face as our Lord and not as our judge because we did not do the things we should have done.

Recently, I was in a situation where I spoke God’s Words about an area of my life to one of my colleagues. Since then those circumstances in my life that, I spoke about, have become progressively worst,  which is opposite to my utterance. This is a direct consequence of having boldly spoken God’s Words. The Word that I spoke is being tried. Understand the reason we have to “take the shield of faith” “above all” other pieces of armoury. It is faith in God by Jesus Christ which makes each of us worthy of anything from God. If we lose faith in him we are defeated. Recall that is why Jesus prayed for Peter’s faith to remain and not fail him. Without faith in God we are in sin because we would have doubt His Word. Faith is not motivated by what we see in our life circumstances and situations. In fact it is what we do not see. Our faith in God through Jesus Christ is what we KNOW God is going to do because He said in His Words that He would.

Christian Soldiers We Possess The Armour of God Not to Fall But to Stand

So when we speak God’s Words Satan puts pressure on us through others, through our personal circumstances and situations to weaken our resolve to STAND on God’s Words. So by the power of God which is in Christ Jesus I speak strength, life, hope and resolve to you today. A resolve to believe and STAND on God’s Words irrespective of what is happening around you. We have the “armour of God” not to fall but to stand. When it seems if you receive one more bill you are going to blow a head gasket, STAND. That will be the Devil’s best shot. If his best shot cannot topple you over nothing from him will. Stand for Jesus and he will stand with you.

Hold on to God’s Words one day at a time.  Hold on just for today. Tomorrow, hold on just for that day until God sends His Word to release you like He did for Joseph.

Finally, stand on the promises of God with rock hard immovable CERTAINTY. You will have nothing to stand on if you lack the Word of God. So input and receive the Word of God into your spirit. Read it, listen to it, memorize it, sing it and speak it but by all means get the Word of God into yourself.

God came to us via a relationship, Joseph and Mary’s, to give us Jesus the Messiah. Then he came to us via Jesus and the Church. Relationships is Satan’s primary target to afflict and bring pressure on us to destroy us because he knows the awesome power of relationships. I pray right now for our many relationships: our associations with family, with relatives, with friends, with the church and with people at work. I pray we will learn to co-exist and learn to get along amicably with others in both our private and public lives; at home,  at work, in society at church and with God. Amen

Pray one more time and wait one more day for God to do His work in your life and as you wait speak God’s Words over your relationship with others, personal, business or Kingdom relationships and watch God fight on your behalf.

Super-enlightening and encouraging! God bless you, Pastor, mighty man of God!

Thank you David but somehow I do not think being a Pastor, is my place in the Kingdom of Heaven. I see myself as a Teacher of the Word but not a Pastor. Thank you, the Lord Jesus continues to bless you!!
